As part of the Safe Communities Project 2024-2025, in partnership with the Iraqi Al-Amal Association and with funding from PAX, the We Are Peace Volunteer Organization implemented a support and security initiative to enhance the role of community police in integrating families returning from displacement camps to the Sharqat district in Salah al-Din Governorate. This initiative aims to build community police capacity and form joint local committees between returnees and the host community. This will reduce discrimination and societal rejection, improve access to official documents, integrate women and girls into community and economic life, and sign an honor code between government agencies, returnees, community representatives, volunteer teams, and non-governmental organizations.
